1. Enabling the Theme App Embed (Required for Storefront Experiments)

PATI A/B Testing uses a non-invasive Shopify Theme App Extension (pati-abtest) and writes zero code to your theme files. To activate the app embed on your published theme (per Shopify Theme App Extension deep-linking documentation):

Open your Shopify Theme Editor App Embeds panel using the activateAppId deep link:
https://<your-shop>.myshopify.com/admin/themes/current/editor?context=apps&template=product&activateAppId=<client_id>/pati-abtest
The deep link automatically toggles the PATI A/B Testing app embed (pati-abtest) to On.
Click Save in the top-right corner of the Theme Editor.

2. Automatic Provisioning on Install

Config Metafields: Creates and maintains $app:abtest.config (storefront embed config) and $app:abtest.fn_config (Shopify Functions config, capped at ≤10,000 bytes).
Web Pixel Extension: Registers pati-abtest-pixel automatically to capture checkout and funnel events.
Shopify Functions: Registers the pati-price-test Cart Transform Function and pati-offers Automatic App Discount Function automatically when the corresponding scopes are granted.

3. Uninstalling Cleanly

Because PATI A/B Testing uses Theme App Extensions, Web Pixels, and Shopify Functions, uninstalling the app from Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels automatically removes the storefront app embed, pixel, and Functions without leaving residual Liquid snippets in your theme.
